 Mad Science Preschool Programs are engaging hands-on learning experiences for preschool children aged 3-5. Each workshop is an interactive, age-appropriate exploration of a specific science topic. From air, dinosaurs, and magnets to rocketry and worms, each themed program is designed to captivate the curious nature of young children. Preschoolers enjoy engaging demonstrations, perform simple experiments and will discover how science can help us better understand the world around us!

Preschool Workshop Descriptions
Color: Enjoy experimenting with all the colors of the rainbow. Discover what creates the colors that we see and observe some color changing mixtures. Make a colorful suncatcher to take home.
Dinosaurs: Become a Junior Paleontologist as you enter the world of dinosaurs! Examine fossils, dig for a dinosaur, and create your own fossil cast to keep!
Eye to Eye: Take a close up look at your sense of sight! Learn about the eye and how your eyes can trick you. Take home a tool used to enhance vision.
Healthy Choices: Learn how making good choices can help us be healthy. We will take a look at the new MyPyramid food guide, discover where our food comes from, and find out what kinds of foods are good for our bodies. Kids will even get to take home a little reminder to make healthy choices!
Keep in Touch: Test your sense of touch through puzzling experiments. Discover how your body feels the world. Use your fingers to create your own masterpiece to take home.
Listen Closely: Learn about sound and use your ears to distinguish different noises. Explore how we hear and how sound travels. Create a unique noisemaker to take home.
Magnets: Feel the attractive pull of magnets! Explore what makes magnets work and experiment with their unique properties. Take home your own magnet to continue your investigations.
Rocketry: Launch into fun with this space-age workshop. Learn about the parts of rockets and observe a real outdoor rocket launch. Create your own special indoor rocket to take home.
Slippery Science: Work as a chemist as you unravel the mystery of polymers. Discover how these unique substances are used everyday. Make your own polymer to take home!
Space Frontiers: Get ready to blast off through a thrilling trip through space! We'll go on an exciting Mad Science Space Mission, see all the planets, and view an indoor star show!
Weather Wonders: You'll get swept away as we take a wild look at weather! We'll learn what temperature is and experiment with a Mad Science Pet Tornado. We will make a book to discover different types of clouds and catch some wind with our own pinwheel to take home.
Where’s the Air?: Experiment with the properties of air as you learn how it takes up space and has the power to move things or slow things down. Be amazed as we blow up marshmallows and shaving cream. Take home your own air powered flying object.
Worms: Become well acquainted with some squirmy, slimy, wiggly worms! Discover how they benefit our lives and eat like a worm! Make a mini-habitat where a worm could live and work.
