Blue and Gold Dinners

This is a 45 minute high energy presentation that is great for large audiences of children and adults.

Fire and Ice

In the land of Fire and Ice our Mad Scientist starts with a magic trick, which uses fire to make a card disappear and magically reappear. Fire is used again to get our overweight friend Eggbert into a tight home. Eggbert introduces the concept of air pressure and leads us to the “Amazing Bernoulli Effect”, which we use to float small and large balls in mid-air. Finally, in the ice portion of this event, we startle the crowd with amazing experiments using frozen carbon dioxide gas at 109°F below zero.

Up, Up, and Away

Let our Mad Scientist teach you about the many uses of that much misunderstood state of matter, gas. After a Mad Science magic trick, we treat our audience to a series of experiments that demonstrate the power of gas. Volunteers from the audience attempt to pull apart the amazing Magdaburg Sphere, launch a hot air balloon, and use Papa Vortex to create smoke rings. This event concludes with The Mad Science Hovercraft and a dinosaur sneeze from “Jurassic Park”.

Spin, Pop, Boom!

How do you know that a chemical reaction has occurred? After this event your students should know. Beginning with a change of color in our chemically challenging “magic” trick, we will then treat them to an assortment of chemical and physical changes: an amazing sound comes from our Flaming Didgeridoos, a genie erupts from a flask with the help of a catalyst, two liquids combine to form a solid in an exothermic reaction and finally, a geyser of hot foam astounds the crowd.
