Mad Science delivers kid tested programs and makes the implementation process easy on parent volunteers and school staff. Included with Our After-School Science Club
ü Inspired Instruction: Mad Science always delivers a unique curriculum developed by dedicated science educators. Our fun, inquiry-based approach includes a blend of demonstrations and hands-on activities in every session. Certified instructors arrive in lab coats 15 minutes before class with all the equipment and materials required. You can be confident in knowing that every Mad Scientist is thoroughly trained and will provide a safe, fun, and educational experience for all students in their care. And, all our programs are correlated with North Carolina Standard Course of Study (SCS) competency goals.
ü Take-home Materials: Students make and take home a science project related to the topic each week. Mad Science provides a summary of each class that describes what was done and lists additional activities that parents may use to continue the fun and learning.
ü School Assembly Kick-off: Schedule our free, high-energy, half hour performance to excite your entire student body about science and inform them of what to expect if they participate in the program. Multiple assemblies may be arranged to allow for age appropriate presentations and large student populations. The Mad Science assembly is correlated with SCS standards and we can supply teachers with pre and post learning materials to extend the learning and fun.
ü Workshops: Each teacher providing a classroom for our program receives a free In-Class Workshop. This may be coordinated with their lesson plan or as a stand alone event.
ü Scholarships: Mad Science helps bring fun science to more children by offering free scholarships for our After-School Science Club. One free scholarship is awarded for every 15 paid enrollments.
ü Fundraising Support: To help your school with its fundraising efforts, Mad Science will donate a deluxe birthday party worth $165. Use the party for silent auctions and raffles.
ü Registration Materials: Customized registration forms are provided to announce your program. We produce and deliver the documents to your school bundled for each teacher’s classroom. Full color posters and information packages for parents and students are also available.
ü Payment Processing: Mad Science can register students and collect funds with our fast, on-line process. Registration by phone and mail are accepted alternatives. All with no additional fees.
ü Scheduling and Rosters: Mad Science will confirm participants, create class rosters and keep everyone informed. If your organization decides to process the registrations and payments, we will provide you with the blank documents to track the information.
ü Science Fair Judging: Invite a Mad Scientist (looking very official in their lab coat) to your science fair where they can help judge the entries, award prizes and participate in other activities. They may also surprise the kids with a fun demonstration or two!
