Fire and Ice: Discover the cool chemistry in the states of matter and learn the basics of air pressure. Scissors will unexpectedly sizzle and carbon dioxide bubbles will pop as the chilling properties of dry ice are revealed. Be amazed when a ball is suspended over the audience and marvel at the strength of your own lungs with these radical air-pressure experiments.
Spin, Pop, Boom: You’ll be spellbound with these cool experiments in physics and chemistry, from volcanic reactions to spinning centrifugal force demonstrations. Learn about the physical forces and molecular interactions in what we see everyday. Observe how chemical reactions make foam shoot up into the air, and how a hand appears to grow. Finally, watch as a swirl of steam, like a genie, dances out of a bottle.
Up Up and Away: Get ready to be mystified by molecules and amazed by atmospheric pressure in this event on the power of pressure. Witness how an ordinary object becomes a hot-air balloon. Zoom across the floor on the Mad Science hovercraft and discover how energy transforms liquid into an exciting chemical reaction.
Marvels of Motion: We will take the children on a journey through the world of Newton’s 3 laws of motion. This interactive event is all about the fun-damentals of moving science. Children will have a chance to compete in wacky events, while the Mad Scientists prepare to unveil their top-secret motion machine!
Be Tobacco Free: Smoking And Your Heart: Experience what occurs when less oxygen is supplied to the heart and to the rest of the body.
Mechanical Smoker: Collect smoke inside the smoking chamber and see for yourself just how much smoke is produced from one cigarette.
Tar Obstruction: See how sticky black tar residue clogs your lungs, using GIANT arteries as a demonstration.
