Introducing the Exploration Series - Featuring Magic, Electricity & Stunt Planes
Through the course of this Exploration Series, children will fly stunt planes that defy gravity, learn the science behind magic and conjure up some tricks of their own. You'll be shocked by what they learn about electricity, blown away by their experiments with air pressure, and swept away by their excitement of working with waves! Every week offers a different hands-on topic. Each electrifying session is packed with interactive experiments and projects you get to bring home.
Class Descriptions Below:
• Under Pressure - Join Bernoulli and Newton as we take this exciting look at the science behind aerodynamics and the properties of air... under pressure. Use a vortex generator to create air pockets with a punch, and levitate ping-pong balls in defiance of gravity! You'll get to use the power of air pressure to launch foam rockets with your very own "Air Blaster" to take home.
• Che-mystery - Eliminate the mystery in chemistry! Explore one of the most exciting and fundamental sciences as you watch a crazy crystal garden grow before your very eyes, see how magical mud can change from a solid to a liquid right before your very eyes. You will use the "Dynamic Dish" Take-Home to create a mixture, a solution, and a chemical reaction.
• Super Structures- Discover the strengths of triangles, cylinders and arches. Learn how combinations of these shapes make for sturdy homes and skyscrapers! Use teamwork to build your own super structures as well as an earthquake-proof building!
• Wacky Waves - Create your own multidensity wave bottles while learning about water, waves and the environment. Simulate the effects of an ocean oil spill and develop creative techniques to clean it up! Children will put together the awesome "Rescue Diver" to take-home.
• Science of Magic - Magic? No… It’s science! You’ll learn the secrets behind famous magic that you can recreate for yourself! Mother nature has some tricks of her own, and we’d like to show you what’s up her sleeve! Amaze your friends and family with your "Curious Cube" take home.
• Stunt Planes & Gliders - The Wright Brothers would be proud as we follow in their footsteps and learn the fundamental principles of flight. Children learn about aircrafts and the four forces that affect flight. See thrust, lift, drag and gravity forces in action. You'll even build your very own loop-flying "Stunt Plane" to take home. You’ll be a Top Gun after this class!
