Frequently Asked Questions
How large/small of a party can you accomodate?
In general we can accommodate any size group or budget. Our standard party pricing includes up to 15 children per party. Additional children require a small fee per child. If you anticipate a very large party, we will work with you on developing a customized party that meets your needs.
What ages are suitable for Mad Science parties?
Since our parties involve hands-on, interactive activities, they are usually appropriate for children 5 and older. We customize the party content to the age of the child.
Where can the party be held?
A Mad Scientist will come to wherever you are holding the party. If you need assistance in finding a suitable location, we can help with that as well.
How early do I need to book the party?
It is best to book as soon as possible as our most popular weekend party slots sell out quickly. When ready to book, just fill out our online form or call our office and ask for a birthday party specialist.
How much does it cost?
Mad Science parties start at $179, which includes travel to your location, approximately 60 minutes of fun-filled activities, clean-up, and an exciting take-home experiment for every child. For an additional charge, we also offer options such as goody bags, hovercraft rides, cotton candy, invitations, and much more. Call our office today or complete our web-based form for more details!
What days/times do you offer parties?
We conduct birthday parties on any day of the week and at any time; however Saturdays and Sundays are the most popular days. Therefore our shows on the weekend are available every hour on the hour. You might also consider a Friday afternoon or evening party. These are becoming increasingly popular.
Will the party mess up my house?
There are no hassles, no worries and no messes for you, as our Mad Scientist will arrive early to set-up, will conduct the show and then will clean up – leaving the party site exactly as he/she found it.
What does Mad Science need from you?
Depending upon the party and options that you have selected, we might need access to electricity and water, a small table (such as a card table) for our equipment, and the ability to darken the room in which the presentation will take place.
How will I know that my party is reserved for my date/time?
We will send out a letter that confirms your party reservation and will call you about 2-3 days in advance to verify the address and approximate number of children attending.
Is a deposit required?
A non-refundable $50 booking fee is required at the time of booking to hold your reservation. This fee will be applied to the cost of your party and the balance is due on the day of your party. Your Mad Scientists can accept checks or credit cards - please, no cash.
Do you charge a travel fee?
Generally we do not charge a travel fee, however a small travel fee might apply if the party does not take place within Denton County, Dallas County, Collin County, or Rockwall County.
Should I tip the Mad Scientist?
Often customers inquire about a gratuity for the instructor. At your discretion, the typical service percentage (15% - 20%) is customary if you feel that you received excellent service.
We look forward to being invited to your party!
