FCPS 4th Grade

Life Processes–

“Photosynthesis” takes a detailed look at the life cycle of a plant. We learn about the different parts of plants used in photosynthesis. Kids discover how a plant turns CO2, H20 and sunlight into food. Everyone uses microscopes to look at slides of preserved plant cells, and make their own slides of a plant!

Force, Motion and Energy–

“Watts Up” takes a look at static electricity and how static electricity is different from current electricity. Experiment with our Van de Graaff generator in hair-raising experiments and even see how lightning is formed! Use electroscopes to test for static electricity and even make your own static stick!

Earth Patterns-

In “Planets and Moons” students voyage to discover the solar system. Volunteers will impersonate the planets to compare their sizes and distances from the sun, recreate a solar and lunar eclipse and become particles on a voyage into the core of a planet! Kids even get to build their own Kepler’s cubes with cool planetary facts!
