In our “Cells” workshop we take an in depth look at the components of a cell including ribosomes, nuclei, Golgi apparatus, mitochondria, vacuoles and more! Look at prepared slides of cells and even make your own with onion and cheek cells. Discover the main differences between plant and animal cells. Everyone even gets to make a model cell to take home!

Force, Motion, and Energy–

“Good Vibrations” looks at sound and how it travels. Which state of matter does sound travel through best solids, liquids or gases? Learn about sound waves, vibrations, pitch, volume and frequency through hands-on activities. Do you know your teeth can listen to the radio? See how with our tooth tunes device! 

Earth Patterns, Cycles and Changes-

Learn more about how the "Earth Works”!! Working together children learn about plate tectonics by “dissecting” the earth and discovering the three layers. We discuss what happens along these plates by discussing the “ring of fire”, making volcanoes erupt, and breaking geodes. Everyone sees how metamorphic rocks are formed by watching crystals grow. Learn how impurities can have an illuminating effect on different types of rocks!   Finally we use these impurities to create a fun keychain to take home.
