Electricity and Magnetism-
Our workshop Mischievous Magnets is a great introduction to the topic of magnets and motors! We bring in many different magnets to examine how and why magnets attract and repel! All the children get to find the magnetic field of horseshoe magnets, ring magnets, and cylindrical magnets! The children all get to make a solenoid and use it to create their very own electromagnet!Our electromagnets really turn them on to magnetism! Compasses, lodestones, and other materials are also used so all the participants can have a truly hands-on experience.
Super Power Sources takes a bold look at power generation, circuitry and renewable resources. Race grasshoppers using solar power, build a circuit and power it with chemistry. Kids will even get to see how a fuel cell can create electricity using water, Hydrogen and Oxygen.
Cells and Heredity-
 In Cells we take an in depth look at the makeup of a cell, learn about ribosomes, nuclei, Golgi apparatus, mitochondria, vacuoles, and more! Look at prepared slides of cells and discover the main differences between plant and animal cells. In addition, we will be making a model cell!
