               1:00pm -3:00pm
Ages: K-2 and 3-6 grades

Crazy Chemistry

Your kids will be “wowed” by the spectacular experiments done with dry ice. They will learn about the states of matter and how we can get genies out of sealed bottles. Uncover the secrets of acids and bases, learn about common household chemicals, safety warning signs, and how acids and bases affect our daily lives,   They will also watch as a film canister pops using an acid and a base.

Playing with Polymers

Investigate the ingredients of the Universe, build your own molecules, play alchemist by turning a nickel into gold (well, almost), learn the properties of polymers, how they are made, watch some magic muffins appear before your very own eyes without the aid of an oven, make your own silly putty and slime with our own Mad Science formula.

Down to Earth

Get the nitty gritty on rocks and minerals. Kids will re-create the process of rock formation and devise ways to identify and classify rocks and minerals. Investigate the habits, needs and characteristics of dinosaurs. Top this off with dinosaurs; look at herbivores and carnivores, become a paleontologist, and make a dinosaur tooth to take home!

Fun-damentals

Make your own gum drop and observe how soda is made. Put you taste organs to the test and learn the fun-damentals of taste. Observe magnets up close and their use in compasses. Kids will enjoy exploring the magnet’s peculiar abilities. Mother Nature has some tricks of her own too, and we’d like to show you what’s up her sleeve!

Blast into Space

These are the voyages of young inquiring minds as they take on a quest to discover space. Their mission: To take an exciting look at the planets, comets, moons and the stars; to boldly go where young minds love to go! (no space suit required).   Build your own Mad Science shuttle and experience its flight. Learn rocketry and take part in a NASA style rocket launch.

**** More topics available: Rockin’ Rockets, Secret Agent Lab, Junior Engineers and Red Hot Robots.
