Launches for Learning - A FREE Event
The countdown is underway for the big May 17th Launch in Troy.
Not one… not two… but three Skyblazer Rockets will lift off, starting at 11:15 a.m.
Troy preschoolers will assist Mad Scientists with the three launches. The children will learn about rockets and space travel in the process.
The triple event is the official launch for the Mad Science® summer day camps to be held at First United Methodist Church of Troy. This partnership will offer 15 camps, seven of which include rocket launches. This IS Rocket Science!
The NASA: Journey into Outer Space camp is a joint venture with NASA. Campers learn about the forces of flight and the challenges of space travel. This hands-on program for children ages 6-12 sends them on a quest for exploration and has them build their own launchable rocket to take home.
Mad Science is a partner in “The Summer of Innovation” program, NASA’s response to President Obama’s “Educate to Innovate” campaign. This initiative is intended to improve participation, performance, and excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning.
There’s also a NASA Camp for Preschoolers that introduces children ages 3-5 to our solar system! Comets, planets, stars and more are waiting to be discovered in this hands-on camp designed especially for little space explorers! The Astronauts-in-Training will build a Skyblazer Rocket to take home!
