Mad Science has developed a huge range of innovative, interactive science resources for teachers and schools which inspire, educate and entertain all children aged 3 -11 years old. Our workshops are age-appropriate, exciting and hands-on and are a fantastic way to enrich science at your school. Lasting anything from half an hour to a whole day and covering a broad range of topics, your Mad Science experience is guaranteed to both engage your class and, of course, spark imaginative learning! Our Aim... Mad Science aims to spark the imagination and curiosity of children everywhere. We strongly believe that generating an interest in science as early as possible is critical to sustaining this country's unique scientific heritage.
The Mad Science Method... - Capturing children's interest and imagination by making sure Science is fun, colourful, hands-on and full of wonder. - Mad Science programmes engage children by allowing them to investigate Science themselves in a safe, structured but fascinating way.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS:Generally run as a 6 or 8 week programme on a day after school which suits you. We start with a a FREE Mad Science whizz bang school assembly to show the children exactly what Mad Science is all about. The children then sign up for the course using our our Mad Science regisration forms (we do all the admin!). There must be a minimum of 15 children for the club to run, with a maximum of 25 children in any one club. We can often run double, triple (or occasionally quadruple!) clubs at a school if there is enough interest. The Mad Science after-school programmes are suitable for all children in years 1 to 6.
SCIENCE DAYS & WORKSHOPS:We will tailor make your Science Day to suit your school. Typically we would start your day with a whizz bang assembly to involve all the children and then allow each year group to experiment in their own classroom with their very own Mad Science workshop. We have a huge number of workshops suitable for Nursery right up to year 6 classes.
WHIZZ BANG SHOWS:Mad Science shows are exciting presentations performed for large groups of children(sometimes up to 400!). They are high-energy, fast-paced shows that willoften involve volunteers, making sure your school delivers an interactive experience that will awaken an interest in science in all children. Normally lasting 40mins or 1 hour, we have a range of show themes to choose from. And we guarantee it will be a Mad Science experience the children at your school will be talking about for weeks!
