A former Captain in the Royal Engineers, Jonny started Mad Science with his sister Becky in 2006. Jonny’s deep interest in science, experimentation and anything that goes bang, led him to serve for 5 of his 9 military years in the elite bomb disposal unit. His current role is no less challenging, but less likely to result in liquefaction of his own body parts!!
Sales & Marketing Director - Becky Milligan
Since graduating in economics in 1999, Becky has worked in sales and marketing management roles. Becky is pleased to be using her experience in this field to promote a service that has had such a positive impact on so many young people in the East Midlands.
Branch Manager, Nottingham - Natalie Dove (aka Nuclear Nat)
Natalie qualified from Nottingham Trent University with an Animal Science Degree. After graduating in 2006, she decided to embark upon a career with Mad Science. Having worked as a Senior Presenter and Events Manager, she was promoted to the position of Nottingham Branch Manager in 2010. Natalie sees it as a great opportunity to make a difference to young scientists.
Assistant Branch Manager, Nottingham - Dr Jannine Clapp (aka Genetic Jannine)
Coming from a human genetics research background, working on Muscular Dystrophy and Huntington’s Disease, Jannine gained her PhD from the University of Nottingham in 2006. Having worked as a Mad Science presenter she was promoted to the position of Assistant Branch Manager in Leicester in May 2011 and loves seeing the impact her work has on the scientists of tomorrow!
Branch Manager, Leicester – Dr Tim Slingsby (aka Dr Tim)
Until 2007, Tim worked with Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys’ group at the University of Leicester; his Ph.D and subsequent studies were at the forefront of human genetics research. Tim now leads the Leicester branch of Mad Science and sees it as an amazing opportunity to inspire the next generation of research scientists.
Assistant Branch Manager, Leicester - Rachelle Briggs (aka Rainbow Rachelle)
Rachelle Briggs has worked for Mad Science for 2 years while studying Engineering at the University of Leicester. Rachelle Joined our graduate management training scheme and takes the role of Assistant Branch Manager in Leicester.
Branch Manager, Northampton – Tom Doran (aka Toxic Tom)
Tom Doran has worked for Mad Science for 3 years whilst an undergraduate at the University of Leicester. In 2010, Tom joined our graduate management training scheme and has recently been promoted to the role of Branch Manager at our Northampton office.
Assistant Branch Manager, Northampton - Julie Wiggins (aka Joules)
After a career working as a chemist in the Food, Cosmetics and Biocides Industries Julie has discovered the satisfaction to be gained in passing scientific knowledge on to the youngsters who will hopefully become the scientists of the future.
