FULL TIME EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST

  We are looking for an equipment specialist to join our team. This is a key role within the company encompassing equipment management, training and assessment and presenting duties and will be based at our Leicester office.  For the right candidate, there is an opportunity to progress to a managerial position.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Conducts assemblies, workshops and after-school clubs

Conducts presenter training

Conducts presenter assessments

Maintains all equipment is in presentable condition, ensuring they are in “ready to pull” condition

Purchases supplies, consumables and equipment from local suppliers

Controls spending and ensures that purchases are economical

Reviews inventory level of consumables to prevent out-of-stock situations without carrying excess inventory

Maintains a system for others to locate all equipment and supplies

Conducts equipment check-in and check-out procedures

Stocks all consumables for use in kits

Ensures that all equipment checklists are up to date

Ensures that all areas are presentable and organized

Plans and organizes the efficient use of lab space

Identifies changing requirements for equipment and supply storage

Builds kits

Potential start date: 5^th January 2010

Salary: £17,000

Hours:  Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm.

PART-TIME KIDS SCIENCE PRESENTER

We are looking to recruit dynamic, vibrant and energetic individuals to work in Nottinghamshire or Leicestershire. The ideal candidate must have a keen interest in promoting fun, stimulating learning for children. They will be responsible for facilitating hands-on, interactive science demonstrations to children between the ages of 5 – 12 years old. A science background or teaching experience is preferable but by no means essential as full training will be provided. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to progress to a managerial position within Mad Science. Flexible working hours are available but candidates must be available to work at least 3 afternoons per week.

Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and own or have access to a vehicle. 

A disclosure will be required in the event of the individual being offered the position.

Remuneration package: up to £25 per hour.
