Mad Science is seeking high energy presenters for our fun after-school science program in public and private elementary schools. This position requires high energy, access to a reliable car and the schedule to be able to work a minimum of 3 events per week. Experience with kids, in a paid or volunteer formalized
environment, is an absolute must! Have fun, educate and make a difference!


ABOUT THE JOB - The Mad Science Instructor/Presenter position is very part time, about 6-15 hours per week. Perfect for students or others who need an afternoon job with a flexible schedule.
As a Mad Science Instructor you will be responsible for facilitating a one-hour after-school science program with a pre-set curriculum. Each session is a very high energy, part entertainment, part education, hands-on class. Each class enrolls a maximum of 22 children in a 4, 6 or 8+ week program which meets one-hour per week. All of our classes are located on-campus at various schools in the Fraser Valley area.
As an instructor you will be assigned to 2 or more events per week.
Each class will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete as you are required to be on-site 15 minutes before your class begins and it takes about fifteen minutes to make sure kids are delivered
safely to parents and to clean up.

ABOUT THE PAY - The presenter/entertainer/instructor position for Mad Science is a very part-time job. Mad Science pays a flat-fee of $25 per one-hour class. Mileage reimbursement may be available. If you are inclined to present to LARGE groups then there will be a higher flat fee paid, based on the event.

ABOUT TRAVEL - Mad Science classes are held on-campus at various schools in the Fraser Valley area. Instructors are assigned to a minimum of 2 classes at varying locations. You must be willing to travel daily to your assigned location. Mileage reimbursement may be available.

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS
To be invited to the interview you must have the following qualifications:
•Previous experience with grade school kids in a formalized (paid or volunteer)
setting. Having children of your own does not qualify you.
•Up-beat, child-friendly personality.
•Be able to work a minimum of 3 afternoons per week (classes begin anywhere from
1:30 to 3:45).
•Have a reliable car or access to a reliable car.
•Have a valid driver’s license.
•Looking for PART-TIME work.
•Be able to attend one mandatory staff meeting per week.

ABOUT TRAINING - To be a Mad Science instructor you must attend a paid training course. Training will take place in September. This mandatory training will give you the basics you need to translate your skills into being a “Mad Scientist.”

ABOUT ORIENTATION – You must attend a mandatory orientation session
which will be scheduled individually.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB - To be invited to interview you must meet the
following requirements:
1. Previous experience with grade school kids in a formalized (paid or volunteer)
setting. Having children of your own does not qualify you.
2. Up-beat, child-friendly personality.
3. Able to work a minimum of 3 afternoons per week (classes begin anywhere from
1:30 to 3:45pm).
4. Have a reliable car or access to a reliable car.
5. Have a valid driver’s license 
6. Be willing to submit a criminal record check.
7. Looking for part-time work.
8. Able to attend one mandatory staff meeting per week
9. Able to attend mandatory training and one orientation session.
