Mad Science of Greater Boston is looking for a results-driven individual to organize and schedule a troop of Mad Science instructors who present fun and exciting hands-on science programs to elementary school age children throughout the Greater Boston area.

Mad Science of Greater Boston presents science activities in a fun and exciting format to elementary school age children.  Programs are conducted at schools, home parties, libraries, camps, etc.  We teach topics that are spectacular and have lots of hands-on potential.  Mad Science of Greater Boston has been in operation since 1995, and is franchise location of Mad Science Group, with offices throughout the world.

Responsibilities

The Administrative Manager is a key position, responsible for managing both Mad Scientists and clients.  The internal tasks include recruiting, interviewing, training, supervising new instructors and scheduling staff to events.  Client interaction includes working with customers to select the program that fits their science needs, then booking these requests for services, and ensuring customer satisfaction.  Occasional direct teaching is necessary from time to time for substitutions and advertisement.

Hours and Benefits

This is a full-time position offering a benefits package, including Tufts medical plan, vacation and holidays.  Salary is competitive and will depend on relevant qualifications and experience.

Advancement

Successful performance in this position is a pre-requisite for the position of Business Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

Detail-oriented individuals with an Education and/or Administration background will be the most successful in this position.

An excellent candidate for this position will have:

The presence to manage a roomful of children or a roomful of adults with similar ease.

Mature and professional presentation, and highly organized work habits.

Interest in repeatedly delivering high quality customer service.

Pleasant, amiable personality with sense of humor.

Previous experience in a similar role, in any industry.

You must have a car. The ability to travel to teaching sites when needed is essential.
