Mad Science of Greater Boston is looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual to support office staff in a variety of tasks.

Mad Science of Greater Boston presents science activities in a fun and exciting format to elementary school age children throughout the Greater Boston area.  Programs are conducted at schools, home parties, libraries, camps, etc. We teach topics that are spectacular and have lots of hands-on potential.  Mad Science of Greater Boston has been in operation since 1995, and is a franchise location of Mad Science Group, with offices worldwide.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supporting the Administrative Manager, who is responsible for organizing and scheduling Mad Science instructors, and other office staff.  Office tasks include, but are not limited to: updating curriculum manuals, creating reports to track Mad Scientists and clients, assisting with experiment preparation, and ensuring consistent quality in all your work. Client responsibilities include answering the phones, booking requests for service, and taking detailed messages for other office staff.  Presenting Mad Science programs at the clients' locations will be a regular part of this position.

Hours and Compensation

This is a part-time hourly (estimated at 22-25 hours a week) position. Mad Science pays competitive wages for excellent qualified employees.

Advancement

Successful performance in this position is a pre-requisite for the position of Administrative Manager or Equipment and Staffing Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

Detail-oriented individuals with an Education and/or Adminstration background will be the most successful in this position.

An excellent candidate for this position will have:

Mature and professional presentation, and highly organized work habits.

Interest in repeatedly delivering high quality customer service.

Pleasant, amiable personality with sense of humor.

Previous experience in a similar role, in any industry.

*Mandatory Requirement*

You must have a car.  The ability to travel to teaching sites when needed is essential.
