Robots and Rockets for Girls
Join other girls exploring robots and rockets with hands-on activities. Build your own model rockets and participate in the model rocket launches. Build a Lego Roverbot with your team and learn about women pioneers in the fields of robots and rockets. Take home your model rockets and the OWI RocKit Robot you build.

Real Life Robotics
Campers get plenty of hands-on experience with real robots. Students learn about the use of R.O.V robots through the operation of OWI soccer robots and wireless OWI Kabuto Mushi Robot. Campers learn about the development of sensors and artificial intelligence while experimenting with OWI Spyder III, OWI Rockit and Hyper Peppy robots. The basics of programming a robot will be experienced first hand using the baby steps activity. Campers start to work on their take home robots.

Robots In Action
Our Jr. Robotic Engineers are put to the test in this day’s activities.   Each team of girls is outfitted with a Lego Mindstorm Robotic Invention System and challenged to build a robot from scratch. Each team decides on the particular propulsion system and sensor systems best suited to the obstacle course challenge. Girls continue to work on their take home robot.

Robot Challenge (not in 4 day camp)
Teams finish building the robot that they designed and are challenged to program the robot using the laptop at camp. The robot must be able to evaluate sensory input and make the right decisions or the mission might take a turn for the worse. Are you up for this challenge? Do you have what it takes to be a Robotic Engineer? There is a sure way to find out this summer, join the Mad Science Robots and Rockets for Girls camp.

Rocket Scientists
Young rocket scientists scratch-build their very own model rocket using common household materials. The Rex Rocket can be launched again and again using real model rocket engines.  It includes a mini payload bay.

Mission Control
Girls learn what makes a rocket stable while investigating problems and finding solutions for successful model rocketry. They learn why the center of balance and the center of pressure are so important in keeping their rockets on a safe path. Build a Mad Science Skyblazer model rocket to take home.
