Mad Science Preschool Programs are engaging hands-on learning experiences for preschool children aged 3.5 to 5.5. Each workshop is an interactive, age-appropriate exploration of a specific science topic. From air, animal friends and butterflies to water, weather and worms, each themed program is designed to captivate the curious nature of young children. Preschoolers enjoy engaging demonstrations, perform simple experiments and will discover how science can help us better understand the world around us!
We work with you to set up programs aligned with your center's requirements. Sessions can run 30, 45 or 60 minutes. All of our sessions include a take-home experiment for each child. Take-home experiments will allow kids to continue learning outside of class!
What we're "experimenting" with this year:
People Science
Children discover all about the human body, especially the parts we cannot see like the skeleton and heart. These classes show us all about our amazing senses of taste, smell, hearing, sight and touch! We'll "digest" how important healthy nutrition choices are to fuel our bodies. Students do hands-on activities in class to see how sensitive our finger tips can be or to observe the powers of sight!
Creatures: Big and Small
Giant guys and small fries, creature come in every size! We'll meet and learn all about the amazing animals we share the planet with. We'll get down and dirty with squiggly-wiggly worms, take flight with our feathererd friends and go on a fossil dig to see what we can discover about that famous Giganta-saur T-Rex!
World Around Us
Ever wonder about the every day workings of some of the simple things in our world? This class will explore the science of wind, lightning and water flow. We'll try to grasp why the sounds of music sound as beautiful as they do and learn about chemistry and how to combine liquids. Your lil guys will be amazed by the magic of slime and foggy, bubbling dry ice!
Mini Engineers: How it works
Curious kids want to know how things work! We are going to uncover the science secrets behind the magic of magnets, create some amazing color potions in our Color Lab, have a blast with the power of air and energy, and even build a bridge to space to find out more about the planets and why the stars twinkle! After this session you will be ready to show your friends "How it Works!"
