Mad Science recognizes the importance of getting young woman excited about science…and you are never too young (or old) to start! Our Mad Science Hands-on Workshop is designed first and foremost to provide a fun introduction to science with exciting hands-on activities and cool demonstrations – that the girls are able to cross off a bunch of those badge requirements at the end of the evening is just a bonus!

a. Invite a Mad Scientist to a meeting. Ask questions.
b. Listen to a story about a famous scientist. (Otto von Guericke)
3. Caboosh!
a. Conduct 2 experiments creating chemical reactions
b. Discuss the results
c. Repeat the experiments. Did they work the second time? What would happen if you changed one ingredient? Two?

Okay – we aren’t talking about the same kind of vacuums that the Brownie Guide Book is…but Otto’s scientific discoveries made engines of all sorts possible…so there is a definite link here.
DETAILS:
Mad Science Brownie Programs are Hands-on Workshops that are designed to satisfy badge requirements while maintaining the fun and excitement that Mad Science is known for. Programs are 50-60 minutes in length and can accomodate up to 30 participants. The Mad Scientist will come to your location. We need enough room for the G girls to get comfortable where everybody can see, a table for the Mad Scientist's equipment and access to electricity and water.
SPECIAL PRICING:
$90 base price + per child Materials Fee + HST after a $25 Brownie Discount is applied.
A travel charge may apply for bookings outside of the St Catharines/Welland/Niagara Falls area.
