Q: What ages are your parties for?
Our birthday parties are designed for children ages 5-12 years old.
Q: How long do parties last?
They typically last approximately 50 to 60 minutes. However, we can customize parties to last as long as you wish.
Q: Where do you host your parties?
We come to you! Most people have them in their homes, while others choose to have them at an alternative site, such as a club house, party room in a pizza parlor, church meeting room, or park recreation building. That’s the wonderful thing about Mad Science Parties, we can go ANYWHERE!
Q: What time should I schedule my party?
We ask that invitation times on Saturdays be either at 11:00 am or before; 1:30 pm and 4:00 or later. On Sundays we offer a 2 pm or 4 pm start time. We generally start 15 minutes after the invitation time. Other days/times may be available upon request.
Q: How soon should I book my party?
It is best to book as soon as possible as our most popular weekend party slots sell out quickly. When ready to book, just fill out our online form or call our office and ask for a birthday party specialist.
Q: Is a deposit required?
A non-refundable $50 booking fee is required at the time of booking to hold your reservation. This fee will be applied to the cost of your party and the balance is due on the day of your party. Your Mad Scientists can accept checks or credit cards - please, no cash.

Q: Is the deposit refundable?
Should you need to cancel your scheduled party, we will refund your deposit minus a $25 booking fee. If you cancel within 14 days, the deposit will not be refunded.
Q: Can we have the party outside it the weather is nice?
Our parties are best done indoors because bright lights and wind greatly diminish the special effects that we use and make some things impossible. Don't worry - we will not mess up your house. Call and we will explain how we do it.
Q: What does a typical party consist of?
Our parties usually start with a magic trick and then we launch into a series of interactive experiments and demonstrations that are age appropriate. The activities are linked together with funny stories and jokes and are done in a manner so that every child will thoroughly enjoy the party. Because not every child may have the opportunity to be a volunteer, we always end the party with the children making something to take home.
Q: Will there be a mess in my house?
There are no hassles, no worries and no messes for you, as our Mad Scientist will arrive early to set-up, will conduct the show and then will clean up – leaving the party site exactly as he/she found it.
Q: What do I need to provide/set up for the party?
Depending upon the party and enhancements that you have selected, we might need access to electricity and water, a small table (such as a card table) for our equipment, and the ability to darken the room in which the presentation will take place. It is also a great idea to have a 15 minute activity prepared for the kids while the Mad Scientist sets up. Ask us for ideas!
Q: What is a Party Enhancement?
Party Enhancements extend the fun (15 to 30 minutes, depending on the package) by adding more activities to the party. You may purchase any of the following Party Enhancements:

- Hovercraft Rides
Q: Do you have party favors I can purchase?

Q: Do you offer invitations?
We have color invitations available. You can buy the exact number you need for $.75 each.
Q: Should I tip the Mad Scientist?
Often customers inquire about a gratuity for the instructor. Tipping is at your discretion. If you feel that a tip is warranted, please pay your Mad Scientist directly -- do not include this amount in the balance due.
