Q: What age range are your parties for?
A: Our birthday parties are designed for children Pre-K all the way to "too cool". We can customize them for younger and even older kids- really big kids, too. (What a neat way to surprise your husband or wife!)
Q: How long does the party last?
A: They typically last approximately 60 minutes. We can, however, customize parties to last as long as you wish.
Q: Where do you do your parties?
A. We come to you! Many people have the party in their homes, while others choose to have them at an alternative site, such as a club house, party room in a pizza parlor, house of worship meeting room, or park recreation building. That’s the wonderful thing about Mad Science Parties, we can go ANYWHERE!
Q: Is there a certain time that I need have my party?
A. Yes, whatever is best for you! We can usually work to your schedule, just call and we'll arrange it. Most or our parties are on weekends, so keep in mind that your favorite time may be taken if you don't book early.
Q: How soon should I book my party?
A: Spots fill up quickly. Most people tend to book about one month in advance.
Q: What do I need to do to book my party?
A: We need a $50 deposit to secure your time slot. We accept cash, checks, visa or Mastercard. Your deposit will be applied on your invoice and the balance is due at the party. At the time of booking, we will send out a letter that confirms your party reservation. If we have not heard from you sooner, we will call you about 3-5 days in advance to re-confirm your information.
Q: If it is nice out, can we have the party outside?
A: Our parties are best done indoors because bright lights and wind greatly diminish the special effects that we use and make some things impossible. Don't worry - we will not mess up your house. Call and we will explain how we do it.
Q: What does a typical party consist of?
A: Our parties usually start with an explanation of the difference between magic and science; then we launch into a series of interactive experiments and demonstrations that are age appropriate. The activities are linked together with funny stories and jokes and are done in a manner so that every child (big kids, too!) will thoroughly enjoy the party. Because not every child may have the opportunity to be a volunteer, we always end the party with the children making something to take home.
Q: What is a party finale?
A: Party finales extend the fun (15 to 20 minutes, depending on the package) by adding more activities to the party. You may purchase any of the following party finales:
- Bubbly Potions
- Rocket Launch (birthday child keeps the launched rocket or a new one to build themselves)
- Cotton Candy for everyone (even the big kids!)
- Hovercraft Rides
Q: Do you have party favors I can purchase?
A: We offer a Mad Science goody bag filled with items that the children will enjoy. Currently, they are packaged in a colorful plastic bag and contain 7 items: Helix Flyer, Soak & Grow Creature, Polymer Putty, Flip Top, Awesome Adhesives and more!. They are $4.99 each.
Q: Do you offer invitations and T-shirts?
A: We have color invitations available. You can buy the exact number you need for $0.95 each. T-shirts cost $12.00 each. Or, get your invitations FREE with an add-on; get your t-shirt free with a second add-on!
Q: Should I tip the Mad Scientist?
A: If you feel that the Mad Scientist did a great job and you want to leave them a tip, please pay your Mad Scientist directly and do not include this amount in the balance due.
