What is a Mad Science Camp?

Gallons of green glowing liquids; strange objects flying through the air; messages written in secret code; mystery substances that change from solid to liquid in seconds.  Is this a fictional account of a visit to another planet?  No . . . it's a Mad Science summer camp!

Yes, Mad Science, the world's leading provider of fun science programs is now offering summer science camps in Reno, Sparks, & Carson City.  Now kids can enjoy week-long science camps, sparking their imaginative learning while school is out!  Your child will become a junior scientist for the week, having the opportunity to experience a variety of unique activities.

Our camps are truly unique experiences and encompass all of the fun and excitement you have come to expect from Mad Science, including our phenomenal take-homes!  Children will design, create, build and assemble a variety of interesting projects and will take at least one project home every day. 

My child has participated in a Mad Science Camp or After School Program before.  Will this be the same?

NO!  Our Mad Science Camp themes are BRAND NEW this year.  Children that loved their experience before will be able to enjoy 3 all new weeks of camp this year.

How do I register my child for a camp?

All Mad Science Summer Camp registration will take place online. CLICK HERE.  Due to limited spaces in each camp, we cannot reserve a space for your child until we receive your payment. If you require further assistance with registering your child for Mad Science camp, please call our Mad Science Lab at 888-503-0333.

Do you offer before and after care?

Yes!  Before and After Care runs from 8:00AM to 9:30AM, and 3:30PM to 5:30PM and will be included with all Summer Camp registrations AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! 

What ages are the camps designed for?

Camps are designed for children entering grades 1 through 6. 

Who are the Mad Science camp instructors?

Our amazing Mad Science instructors are fully-trained and have extensive experience working within the Mad Science system.  Many are teachers in the local School District.  All instructors have passed an extensive background check, are certified in First Aid and CPR, and have a background in working with children.

What should I bring to camp?

Please send your child to camp in comfortable clothes.  We will be outside for only short periods of time during the day, however if you would like your child to have sunscreen, please apply it before you drop your child off at camp.  Your child may bring a bottle of water to camp.  If your child is attending a full-day camp, please send a sack lunch (no peanut products, please).  If your child has any food allergies, please make sure to note that on your registration.

Can I sign my child up for more than one camp?

YES!  Many children sign up for multiple camps.  Each one is totally different so that your child can enjoy them all without repeating activities.

Are there any additional materials fees?

NO! The cost of the camp includes all materials and take-home projects. 

What if my child misses a day of camp?

If your child misses a day of camp, we are happy to provide you with all materials for take-home activities that your child has missed.  We are not able to offer any reimbursement for missed camp days.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes!  We offer a discount of $10 off per child, if you are registering more than one child for the same week.  This is called our "Sibling Discount."  Call 888-503-0333 for details.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes.  If registration is cancelled more than one week prior to the start date of camp, a $50 per camper fee will be charged.  If registration is cancelled one week or less prior to start date of camp, a $100 per camper fee will apply.

Rockin' Robots!

Join us for a week of fun with amazing robots! In this exciting week, campers will learn about the uses of robots in our world and spend time experimenting with super cool red-hot robots.  Experiment with sound sensing robots, line tracking robots, amphibious robots, and robots that can even play soccer!  Discover the science of circuits and how robots use sensors to explore things around them.  Use your skills to build your very own working robot to take home with you!  (All New Robot This Year)

CSI: Mad Science!

Become a Secret Agent and create your own chemistry lab.  Decode and decipher your DNA and explore how the science behind life can help you solve a crime!  Use Morse Code to send secret messages to your friends and combine ooey-gooey ingredients to build a model cell.  This camp concludes with a mysterious crime to be solved by our newest Secret Agents.

3...2...1...Balst Off!!

Mad Science invites you to launch your knowledge of flight as you step into the shoes of a rocket scientist!  Build and launch a variety of rockets in our Mission Control Center.  Explore Newton's laws of motion, unveil the history of space travel, and discover how space vehicles work.  Campers will have the opportunity to test tracking systems, measure altitude, and design their own rockets!

Mad Science Summer Camps are Full-Day Camps. Parents may drop off any time between 8:00-9:30AM, and pick up between 3:30-5:30PM.  Each Full-Day CSI & 3...2...1... costs $225 per week.  Rockin' Robots Camp costs $255 per week.  Price includes BEFORE AND AFTER CARE, all supplies and Take Home Experiments.
