Mad Science is proud to offer this unique FULL DAY Science program for your school! We will provide a staff of trained Mad Scientists that will be guiding your students on their scientific journey – you and your staff don’t have to do a thing!
The following fantastic hands-on science booths are a few examples of what can be provided at your event. There will be All New Booths for 2010! Each activity engages children with fun science experiments that they can do themselves. Many include items to take home with them! The same activities will be done with all grade levels, however the scientific explanations will change, depending on the ages of the children.
Pet Tornados! - Be amazed as you hold your own weather system in your hand. Make your own Pet Tornado to carry with you and demonstrate the amazing power of centrifugal force. (Scientific Principles: Centrifugal Force, Weather)
Motion - Watch energy at work, as potential energy becomes kinetic energy with our Boink Contraption! (Scientific Principles: Potential Energy, Kinetic Energy, Motion)
Green Houses - Conduct your own experiment using the scientific method. As our Mad Scientists explain how plants and people rely on each other for their survival, the children will be guided to setup their own seed germination experiment. (Scientific Principles: Scientific Method, Science as Inquiry, Seed Germination)
Robots - Experiment with sound sensing robots, line-tracking robots, amphibious robots and robots that can even play soccer! (Scientific Principles: Robots, Circuitry)
Oobleck - Come discover this amazing non-newtonian fluid! Is it a solid? Is it a liquid? Students get the chance to explore with this scientific contradiction and even take some home with them! (Scientific Principles: Polymers, Viscosity, States of Matter)
Super Structures - Students will work in teams to help construct Roman Arches. Learn how shapes are used to in engineering. (Scientific Principles: Structures, Structural Engineering)
Bubbling Potions - A dry ice extravaganza! Witness a coin shivering from the cold, play with our unique Mad Science Shower, and create the same awesome smoke illusions used in the movies! (Scientific Principles: States of Matter, Sublimation, Physical Reactions)
