Camp Descriptions

WEEK LONG CAMPS

NASA:  A Journey into Outerspace-- From our Earth's atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system, this hands-on program sends children on a quest for exploration! Comets, planets & stars are all waiting to be discovered. Learn about the: forces of flight, challenges of space travel & more!

SECRET AGENT LAB--Step into the shoes of a detective as you uncover the science behind crime scene investigations, puzzle solving & code-breaking.  Use special tools to observe clues & match character descriptions to reconstruct the culprit's face!  

CLAWS, CODES, and CONSTELLATIONS--Let your scientific imagination soar as we explore animal life and habitats, follow scent trails, solve chemical mysteries and look for clues.  Crystal creations and cool tasty treats, secret slime formulas and slimy creatures--what could be more fun!  

AMAZING ROBOTICS--Check out how robots work, operate, and more! Once you've mastered electrical circuitry, mechanics and engineering; we'll tackling the awesome adventure of building your own amazing robots to take home!

SLIMERS, CRAWLERS, and FLIERS--Mad Science introduces campers to the mysteries of life.  Take a close-up view into the world of insects, discover what secrets old bones can tell us and peek into cellular structures.  Hairy worms, flying pigs and cellular creations are waiting to be discovered!

OUTDOOR NATURE CAMP--Discover the weird world of animals, bugs, butterflies, fish and more. We'll check out butterflies and other insects and how they're all related. Discover how bugs walk on water, build a birdhouse, and how animals do such a great job of blending in!

TASTE OF MAD SCENCE--Codes and cryptic messages are waiting to be uncovered as we explore the science behind secrets.  Try your hand at identifying an art forgery, figure out how special movie effects are created, and discover how birds walk on water.  You'll have the chance to solve lots of mysteries as you experience a little Taste of Mad Science!

INTO THE GARDEN PRE-K CAMP--This camp is devoted to different aspects of the garden, allowing children to enrich their understanding of how living things grow & how they interact with the environment. Children will perform experiments, play themed games, and enjoy a snack and story related to the day's themes.

PRESCHOOL SCIENCE CAMP (3 days)--Explore science through a variety of hands-on activities led by a scientist! This camp for preschoolers ages 3-6 will be 3 days of scientific fun! Learn about your eyes, ears and touch; and explore the world of water, magnets and mad mixtures.

DAY CAMPS

SHUTTERBUGS--This camp will introduce children tot he art and science behind the camera lens.  Through the world of color, children will discover rainbows and prisms, and create their own special take-home!!

ART in ACTION--Art in ACTION allows children to discover art in nature through nature prints and chromatography.  Children explore how science and art are connected through studying distorted images, interesting techniques, and many art styles!

BIRDS & BUTTERFLIES--Mad Science has gone to the birds...for a great day of science exploration!  We'll learn how adaptations have led to so many different types of birds, and we'll discover how bugs walk on water, and build a birdfeeder!

MAD MESSAGES--We are going on a Mission of Detective Discovery!  Codes and cryptic messages are waiting to be uncovered as we explore the science behind secrets.  Try your fingers at Fingerprinting! 

JUNIOR ENGINEERS--The tiniest atom to the largest galaxies are all made of...STRUCTURES!  Physics becomes a fun adventure as we discover how basic shapes create super structures from spider webs to wild coaster rides!

FLIGHT SCHOOL--Discover the secrets of flight as we build a rocket, create wings, flying rings, and more!  Also watch out for falling meteors as we examine what comets are made of and how gravity brings them to us! Top off the day with a rocket launch!

CRAZY CHEMISTRY--Spend a day with Mad Science as we explore the fun, COLORFUL, CRAZY world of CHEMISTRY! With the help of molecular bonding, campers will be able to grow colorful crystals, swirl together a bubbling concoction & more!
