Hands-on, fun science programs just for Scouts!

12-1:45pm  GIRL SCOUT WORKSHOP

SCIENCE SLEUTH: Open to all Girl Scouts                                                                                                                                         

Discover the amazing way sound travels, explore cool chemistry of metal electroplating and then perform an actual DNA extraction!   We’ll learn how to identify various patterns in fingerprints, and what your fingerprints say about you.   Try experimenting with a pulley-rigging apparatus and levers and simple tools before creating your own machine. To top off the day, grow your own crystal garden to take home!

CUB SCOUT WORKSHOP                                                                                            

MAD SCIENCE MACHINES: Open to all Cub Scouts                                                                                                                                         Join Teams of Cub Scout engineers working together with tools, levers, and pulleys! Discover the science behind catapults and why some pinewood cars are faster than others. If all the scientific experimentation wasn’t enough...build a cool Mad Science Machine to take home! We’ll have so much fun problem solving, designing and testing just like real engineers, you’ll forget you’re learning!                                                                                             Applies towards:

******Badges, Pins and other awards earned may be purchased at your local Scout Service Center. Mad Science will aid your youths in completing the difficult science requirements-there may be some simple requirements for your scouts to finish independently. ******
