Learn about light, colors, & special laser effects. Use a real laser to create illusions, observe a light show and participate in our laser/mirror challenge!
LIGHTS...COLOR...ACTION
Requires Electricity & Darkened Room
Using a Newton’s color wheel that they have built themselves, students in this class will prove that white light really is made up of all the colors of the rainbow! They will witness the wonders of chromatography in an exciting demonstration and will then be introduced to the concept of diffraction. Then children will experience this first hand while wearing “rainbow” glasses during a spectacular indoor fireworks display!
MAD MACHINES
Elementary-age engineers will be hard at work with pulleys and levers. They will design, problem-solve, and have a whole lot of fun! Students will even take home a cool Mad Science Machine that they have built themselves!
MAGNETIC MAGIC Best for Grades 3-6
Students will investigate the powers and daily uses of magnets! In this class, the children will learn about polarity, will visualize magnetic fields, and see how a compass is made. They will even use invisible magnetic fields to levitate magnets!
MATTER OF FACT
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of chemistry. They will construct their own marshmallow molecules and learn to distinguish between physical & chemical changes like true scientists! Children will even get to play alchemist for a day by turning a nickel into gold (well, almost). To finish up, children are introduced to the basics of polymers and get to make their very own polymer putty to take home!
MOVIE EFFECTS
Grab your popcorn but don't sit back…we're going to learn first-hand how advances in science and technology make our favorite special effects possible! Children will take home a Cartoon Creator that they've made themselves! It's Einstein meets Spielberg in a class of 3..2..1…action!
