Mad Science is an educational entertainment company focused on providing science enrichment for elementary-aged children. We are a local franchise of a world-wide company. We seek high energy presenters for our fun after-school science programs in public and private elementary schools. As we are expanding rapidly, full time positions are also becoming available for those interested.   Have fun, educate and make a difference!

BE A MAD SCIENTIST!
The Mad Science Instructor/Presenter position is very part-time, (4 - 10 hours per week to start) perfect for students or others who need an afternoon job with a flexible schedule.  After your initial semester more hours will be available.

As a Mad Science Instructor you will be responsible for facilitating our science programs with a pre-set curriculum, both after and during school hours and even on weekends if interested.  We cover exciting topics such as rocketry, chemical wonders, matter, life and natural sciences, optical illusions and sound. and much more.. (over 200 hours of science content) .

Our classes take place at schools primarily in Pinellas county but we also are expanding into Manatee and Sarasota counties.

MAD SCIENTIST REQUIREMENTS
A background in science is not required, but you must have the following qualifications:

• Live in or near our service area of Pinellas, Manatee or Sarasota Counties.  If you live in or near Hillsborough or Pasco Counties please apply to Mad Science of "Tampa Bay" at: http://www.madscience.org/locations/tampabay/
• Previous experience with groups of elementary aged children in a formalized (paid or volunteer) setting. 
• Up-beat, child-friendly personality.
• An Interest in science
• Able to work a minimum of 3 afternoons per week (2 - 5pm time range)
• Have a reliable car or access to one.
• Be able to attend one paid mandatory staff meeting per week.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Mad Science pays a flat-fee of $25-$50 per one-hour program. Mileage reimbursement is also available.   Training is by a combination of formalized group training, observation, video/on line, and coaching.

FULL TIME WORK?
We are growing rapidly and always on the look out to add more full time personal in operations, planing and marketing.  As a full time Mad Scientist you of course expected to join the fun and be able to intruct our progams at any time as well in back-up role.
