MAD SCIENCE OF SOUTHERN MA & RI is looking for PART-TIME INSTRUCTORS who live in, or are willing to regularly drive to, the towns that are central to our territory, from Attleboro to Plymouth, New Bedford to Easton. As we also cover all of RI and Cape Cod, willingness to occasionally cover those areas would be a plus.
Primary responsibilities include:
- facilitating one-hour programs, as developed by Mad Science, for kids from PK-6th grade
- traveling to program locations such as schools, libraries, malls, and homes
- regularly picking up/dropping off program equipment at our office
Candidates for a position with Mad Science will be:
- Responsible - able to conduct programs safely and efficiently
- Reliable - always on time, always prepared
- Adaptable - able to adjust to every environment and group type
- Professional - comfortable dealing with everyone from parents to principals
- Flexible - able to function in a business where schedules and workloads are at the mercy of the customer
- FUN!!!
To be eligible to be a CLASS INSTRUCTOR, you must have excellent classroom management skills and enjoy working with small groups. Groups average about 15-20 kids.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with groups of children age 4-12 (sorry, babysitting and relatives do not count)
- Available 2 PM - 5 PM, Monday - Thursday
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of basic science (don't worry - we'll train the rest!)
- A DYNAMIC and FUN personality
- Lots of ENERGY
To be eligible to be a SHOW PERFORMER, you must love being in front of a crowd! Birthday parties, school assemblies, and malls are just a few of the places Mad Science performs. Crowds can range from 10 to 500!
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with groups of children age 4-12 (sorry, babysitting and relatives do not count)
- Full weekend availability (additional weekday availability a plus)
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Comfortable in front of a crowd; performance or public speaking skills
- Knowledge of basic science (don't worry - we'll train the rest!)
- A DYNAMIC and FUN personality
- Lots of ENERGY
